The crime branch of Goa police on Saturday arrested three persons, including a woman, who were allegedly running an online prostitution business, and rescued three girls from Panaji.
Crime branch superintendent of police (SP), Priyanka Kashyap, said the rescued girls are from Bengaluru and Delhi.
The crime branch got a tip-off that a website was promising to provide female escort services in Goa.
After a preliminary inquiry, crime branch sleuths contacted the number displayed on the website through a decoy customer and a deal was struck at Rs 60,000 for three girls, Kashyap said.
Police said that as soon as the accused, along with the girls, reached, the crime branch sleuths arrested him and rescued the victims. Three accused – namely Joseph, Jacob and Piya – have been nabbed in the case so far. tnn
