This unplanned and unchecked forms of tourism is what makes Goa loose out . This year we are down 30 percent and the question needs to be asked why? Did tourists who came earlier come for sea planes, rope ways and hot air balloon rides or did they come to clean and calm destinations to relax and rejuvenate .

The appearance of two camels recently took regular tourists at Sernabatim beach by surprise.
The usual morning walkers, joggers or the ones lazying under the sun went into a frenzy to take pictures with the desert ship on the beach in Salcete. While foreigners were more curious about the presence of the camels, Indian tourists were interested to bargain for a camel ride on the beach.
Caretaker Ajay Bidal said the animals were brought from Rajasthan for a wedding ceremony at one of the nearby hotels. One of the guests at the event wanted to go for a ride and that’s how the camels landed at the beach. “Some tourists are now wanting to take adventure rides on the camels,” Bidal added.
Deputy conservator of forests (wildlife) Sanjay Waradkar said as camels do not fall under the scheduled list of animals and can be domesticated, no permission was required to let them enter the state.
