Water sports operators need to have more safety measures in place for their staff who risk their lives. Authorities should ensure that before granting permissions that the lives of workers are insured . There are a few hundreds of workers all from out of the state that keep this business alive and it is only fair that their lives are protected.
NGT has done well of sending notices to GCZMA for submitting misleading information. Along with GCZMA they should also hold GTDC for going ahead with the festival despite the stay order from NGT. Does GTDC think its above the law? such arrogance should be dealt with very strictly by NGT
This government thinks that after being caught with the foot in the mouth, they can get away with fooling the public by giving lame excuses that the HOHO buses were used to create public awareness on the risks to passengers sitting on these buses.
These buses have not even been commissioned, GTDC can now lend them to the fire department where they will be put to better use.
While some shack owners welcomed this decision, others who have been allotted shacks for one year only(Baga -Sinquerim stretch) are unhappy. Why can’t Goan look at the larger picture rather then their own selfish interests?
Will Dristi keep the beaches safe or clean them up? Goans can cry foul . For years the beach cleaning has been a scan and for Goans to cry foul now is not acceptable.
