use of drugs is extensive in late night rave parties

The statements made by Parrikar and Vijay seems to say that till date they were completely in the dark and its only now that they are asking for police and drug nexus. It is not our duty to provide Intel to the government and get persecuted and targeted for being informants. The government better learn to do their work and the law enforcement theirs.

Panaji: Alleging that the law and order machinery in the state has collapsed, while referring to the recent case of two youth dying of suspected drug overdose and of the arrest of sharpshooters in Goa, Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco said it is not possible for the drug trade in the state to flourish without the blessings of the ruling party.

Drugs are being sold in Goa’s villages too, he said, adding that he moved a breach of privilege motion against the chief minister and education minister for informing the house that there was no information regarding the availability of drugs school or college premises. People are also openly being approached for drugs in discos, he told mediapersons on Monday.

Claiming that Goa was turning into a ‘Bangkok of India’, former Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes said prostitution is openly taking place in front of businesses run by ruling party MLAs along the beach belt from Candolim to Anjuna. Prior to 2012, prostitutes were not seen openly soliciting customers on streets, he said.

Yatish Naik, general secretary of Goa Congress said cases such as that of hitmen were not heard of in Goa in the past. The party challenged Calangute MLA Michael Lobo to reveal names of police officers who are involved in such activities in the state.

Fernandes and Joseph Sequeira, the former Calangute sarpanch are supporting the Congress block president in Calangute, Joy Fernandes for the upcoming zilla panchayat byelections in Calangute. Meanwhile, Damiao Teles, the independent candidate has withdrawn his candidature in support of Fernandes.

3 of 6 parties in Anjuna dont have sound permission

All rules and norms flouted and no one to enforce the law. This for sure happens everyday and goes unchecked . Do we really believe that the police and the government is in the dark about these activities. Its only when some death’s happen and they get reported in the news that our ministers make very casual and callous remarks.

4 students among 5 held in drug raids in Anjuna

Vijay and Parrikar now wants us to believe that the drug problem is lack of law enforcement by the police. Yes is its a lack of law enforcement by the police but this is also deu to the political patronage that this happens. Vijay thinks that the public are fools to accept his explanation of the problem

Tourism marketing has to be based on research

If the tourism department was really serious about promoting Goa, and had really done their research, they would not have visited some of these tourism fairs. It is very evident that these trips abroad are not about promoting Goa but about going places for officials in the tourism department.
