Peoples protests have yielded results. The helepad approved by the Anjuna Panchayat has been revoked. When people are alert and vigilant to their lands being stripped, their environment polluted, and their cultures denigrated, those in power have no option but to surrender. The attempt to foist a helepad on the people of Vagator is yet another GTDC blunder – a structure in the government which pursues anti-people policies in it’s relentless search for ways to put Goa on sale to the highest bidder.
